RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received President of the Republic of Bulgaria Iliana Iotova at the Government.

The Prime Minister welcomed the visit of Iliana Iotova and the delegation led by her to Armenia to participate in the 8th summit of the European Political Community. Prime Minister Pashinyan congratulated Ms. Iotova on assuming the office of Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria and wished her success.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that relations between the two countries are at the level of a high political dialogue, and today this will be formalized by the document being signed on the strategic nature of the relations. The head of government emphasized that bilateral relations between Armenia and Bulgaria have great potential. Nikol Pashinyan also thanked Bulgaria for the support provided to Armenia within the framework of the European Union.

Iliana Iotova thanked for the warm reception and for hosting the summit of the European Political Community. The Vice President of Bulgaria emphasized that the EPC summit has achieved tangible results since its establishment. Iliana Iotova also congratulated the RA Prime Minister on holding the next EU–Armenia summit.

The interlocutors discussed agenda issues related to the further development of Armenian-Bulgarian relations and touched upon various topics of regional importance.

Following the meeting, Nikol Pashinyan and Iliana Iotova signed a joint declaration “On Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Bulgaria”.
