The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has struck a US military base in response to US strikes on a facility on the outskirts of Iran’s Bandar Abbas airport, the IRGC stated Thursday.
“This response is a serious warning so that the enemy knows that that the attack will not go unanswered, and if it is repeated, our response will be more decisive,” the statement added, in particular, Tasnim News Agency reported on its Telegram channel.
As noted in the IRGC statement, the US bears responsibility for the consequences.
Reuters had reported Wednesday night that the US had struck an unnamed Iranian military facility. Also, the US military intercepted and shot down several Iranian drones that posed a similar threat.
Later, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported that the US had shot down four drones allegedly launched by Iran. And a senior US official said the US military also attacked another Iranian drone launching unit on the ground.
