Whether we will take the mandates or not? What kind of political process will there be? We will hold respective consultations with the opposition political partner forces to give answers to these questions, because we believe that this decision should be joint. MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan, who is on the electoral list of the opposition "Armenia" bloc, told this to a press conference Tuesday regarding the results of Sunday’s National Assembly (parliament) elections.

"After having the answer to this question, we will state our final position. I can only say one thing at this moment very clearly to our compatriots that any of our decisions will stem from the logic of the shared struggle. We share the concerns that are being voiced. But we will make that decision by judging everything wisely, assessing the situation, and from the perspective of the success and continuation of the struggle. But I say again, a joint opposition decision is very important here, regardless of what decision it will be," Saghatelyan added.

In this context, he underscored the matter of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) passing the threshold to win seats in the parliament.

“An obvious illegality is taking place here, limiting the third opposition force from entering parliament. If the PAP enters parliament, it is obvious that the CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract party] will not have 3/5 votes in the NA [i.e. the National Assembly],” Saghatelyan said.
