If the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia and the authorities do not call a re-election in two polling stations, they will cross all red lines, said opposition Strong Armenia party council member Narek Karapetyan, who headed the Strong Armenia bloc’s electoral list in the National Assembly (parliament) elections on June 7.

“After our message, when we announced that the CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract party] and [its leader, PM Nikol] Pashinyan lost 3/5 of the National Assembly [seats] and no longer have the chance to change the constitution [of Armenia] on [Azerbaijani president Ilham] Aliyev’s orders, the CEC selected two polling stations where the Prosperous Armenia Party [(PAP)] has the most votes and declared the results of those polling stations null and void, since there were indeed soldiers’ voting there.

The same thing happened in hundreds of other places as well, but it [i.e. the CEC] did this in these two places where the PAP has many votes, thereby it deprives the PAP of entering the National Assembly.

We, as the largest [political] force in Armenia, which has the opportunity to replace the Civil Contract party, declare: if the Central Electoral Commission, the authorities do not hold a re-election in these [election] precincts, this will cross the red lines—all the red lines of democracy and impudent behavior."
