First Deputy Minister of Defense, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan, on Wednesday received German Ambassador Claudia Busch, at the Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Armenia, the ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador Busch, on behalf of the German government, presented 16 snowmobiles to the MoD for the purpose of modernizing technical means and developing capabilities of the Armenian Armed Forces.
The ambassador noted that Armenia and Germany are connected by close relations. She particularly emphasized that since 2025, bilateral relations between the two countries have been strengthened by the Strategic Partnership Agenda, which was signed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The aforesaid snowmobiles will be used for the transportation of personnel as well as small and light loads in high mountain conditions. With the assistance of experts from Germany, the personnel of the Armenian Armed Forces are currently undergoing training in the operation of these snowmobiles.
