A representative of the Strong Armenia Alliance on Friday filed a petition with the Constitutional Court of Armenia, challenging the Central Electoral Commission decision on the results of the June 7 National Assembly (parliament) elections.

The Constitutional Court will decide on the admissibility of the petition at a procedural meeting within two days after the petition is filed, the Constitutional Court informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

If the petition is accepted for proceedings, a reporting judge will be appointed, who shall prepares the case for trial.

Trials in disputes regarding the results of the National Assembly elections are conducted verbally.

The Constitutional Court is obligated to examine the case and make a decision on it no later than 15 days after the petition is filed, the Constitutional Court added.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that Aram Vardevanyan, a representative of the Strong Armenia Alliance, on Friday filed a petition with the Constitutional Court to invalidate the results of the National Assembly (parliament) elections on June 7.
