Armenia's Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Zhanna Andreasyan, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, where the second phase of the memorial’s renovation has begun.

Andreasyan toured the area and got acquainted with the progress of the work. She attached importance to the high-quality, proper, and timely implementation of the work, emphasizing that the renovation of the Armenian Genocide Memorial requires special responsibility.

The second phase of the renovation includes the major renovation of three more pillars of the Temple of Eternity of the memorial. In parallel, renovation of the Armenian Genocide Museum section will also begin. The full completion of the construction is expected by the end of the year.

During this period, the Armenian Genocide Memorial will be open to visitors.

The first phase of the memorial’s renovation program was completed in April. In the first phase, its central, western and eastern buildings, as well as the pillars of the Temple of Eternity, were renovated. A new drainage system was built, waterproofing was carried out on the foundations of the pillars and the memorial wall. The previously deteriorated waterproofing layer was cleaned, and the concrete skeleton of the pillars was reinforced and waterproofed using modern special materials. The slabs of the backs and sides were replaced, and new paving was installed in the areas adjacent to the pillars. And a new alley was built along the memorial wall of the Armenian Genocide Memorial, the green area was improved, and the irrigation network was renovated.
