Two explosions in Damascus occurred outside the security zone established around the hotel where French President Emmanuel Macron was staying and did not pose a threat to the life of the French leader. This was reported by the Syrian Ministry of Interior.

"The explosion occurred outside the security zone of the residence of the President of France and did not pose a direct threat to him, the persons accompanying him, or the program of the official visit, which continues in accordance with the planned schedule," the Interior Ministry said in a statement carried by the SANA agency.

It уточняется that the improvised bombs exploded after "they were discovered by the security forces and Interior Ministry specialists began to defuse them."
