Israeli authorities fear that, amid efforts to resolve the issue of the Strait of Hormuz, the United States may abandon attempts to settle the issue of Iran’s nuclear program, which is the main concern for the Jewish state in the current conflict. This was reported by the Al-Monitor portal, citing sources in the Israeli leadership.

As the portal’s sources noted, the American side has shown no interest in resolving the Iranian nuclear issue in recent weeks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly expressed to U.S. President Donald Trump his concerns about Washington’s inaction on this matter.

“All attention is focused on the Strait of Hormuz. No one is talking about the nuclear issue. This is the worst possible scenario for us. He tried to convince Trump more than once, but nothing came of it,” one of the portal’s sources said. As Al-Monitor notes, Netanyahu plans to hold talks with Trump on July 19 and try to persuade the American leader to focus on the issues of Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
