U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Iran is not serious about reaching an agreement and continues to violate the arrangements that have been made.

According to Aljazeera, he said this at a press conference in Manila on the sidelines of the ASEAN foreign ministers’ meeting.

“I just don’t think they are serious about making a deal. The problem is that you can’t make a deal with people if they don’t intend to honor it,” Rubio said.

According to him, after reaching agreements, Tehran either violates them or tries to change the terms of the deals.

“It seems Iran is not ready for a deal, and it will have to pay for that. Every time they make a deal, they either break it or change it,” the U.S. secretary of state noted.

Rubio also said that “Iran is begging for a deal,” but stressed that pressure on Tehran will only intensify.

“The price for Iran will rise with each passing night until they come to their senses,” he said.

The secretary of state emphasized that the main priority of the United States remains preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
