Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a warning about adverse weather conditions in many regions due to extreme heat. The maximum weather danger level — red — is in effect in the east of the country.

This applies in particular to a number of areas in the autonomous communities of Valencia, Murcia, and Castilla-La Mancha. Temperatures there may exceed 42-44 °C. In addition, an extremely high level of fire danger remains in place across almost the entire country.
