U.S. President Donald Trump said that an agreement on peaceful nuclear cooperation with Saudi Arabia will be implemented only if Riyadh joins the Abraham Accords and normalizes relations with Israel, Reuters reports.

According to Trump, Saudi Arabia’s participation in the U.S.-brokered agreements will be a mandatory condition for the implementation of the deal.

Earlier, Riyadh stated that it was not ready to establish official relations with Israel without a clear plan for the creation of a Palestinian state.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also said that without Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords, the nuclear deal will not take place.

On the eve of this, the United States and Saudi Arabia announced an agreement on cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy, which provides for the development of the Saudi nuclear program using American technologies.
