One person was killed and two others were injured on Monday as a result of an armed attack in the historic center of Mexico City. This was reported by the newspaper El Universal.
According to the capital's Secretariat of Citizen Security, the incident occurred at the intersection of Belisario Dominguez and Republica de Brasil streets in the central part of the city. Unknown assailants opened fire on three men and then fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Emergency services personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed the death of a 42-year-old man. The two injured 39-year-olds received emergency medical assistance at the scene and were then hospitalized.
The area of the incident has been cordoned off by police officers, and forensic experts and prosecutors' investigators are working at the scene. Authorities are analyzing surveillance camera footage to determine the route taken by the fleeing suspects. No arrests have been reported, and the motives for the attack are being investigated.
