The phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was warm and substantive, said Russian leader’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“You know that this morning the president already had a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Aliyev. A very warm, substantive phone conversation,” Peskov told reporters.

The presidential press secretary also, in response to journalists’ request, promised to clarify at whose initiative the phone conversation between the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan took place.

On Tuesday, the Kremlin press service reported that a phone conversation between Putin and Aliyev had taken place.
