The Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, was greeted with exclamations of “Vehapar”—meaning “His Holiness”—as he left the courthouse.

As previously reported, Friday’s trial—against the Catholicos and six bishops—at the court of first instance of general jurisdiction of Armavir Province of Armenia was held behind closed doors and lasted only a few minutes.

Also, presiding Judge Hakob Manukyan recused himself.

The Catholicos is now heading from the courthouse to his residence, accompanied by the clergy and faithful of the Armenian Apostolic Church, as well as to the sounds of church chant.
