Tehran has unexpectedly posited new tough conditions for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on building the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), while maintaining goodwill in the public sphere.

The Iranian authorities have demanded that the TRIPP defense work be carried out either exclusively by the Armenian armed forces, or by the armed forces of a third country already present on the territory of Armenia—obviously referring to the Russian armed forces.

According to our sources, in this way Tehran is trying to exclude the emergence of American troops on its borders. Otherwise, in the conditions of the escalating conflict, the Iranians will consider American soldiers a legitimate target.

This seriously complicates the implementation of Yerevan’s already “crippled” main foreign policy project.
