Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan on Monday met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, on the margins of the 15th Annual Investment Congress in Dubai.

A number of matters related to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation as well as the formation of new opportunities between Armenia and the UAE were discussed. In the context of diversifying the geographical scope of exports, the facilitation of the process of entering the UAE market for Armenia’s exporters was emphasized.

In this connection, Papoyan proposed forming a practical communication mechanism with respective UAE agencies, and said that this will enable Armenia’s companies to better understand market requirements, current standards, and certification procedures.

Also, the Armenian minister of economy proposed organizing visits to Armenia by UAE businesspersons to familiarize themselves with the country’s production opportunities, hold B2B meetings, and move from pilot supplies to long-term contracts. Several other matters of mutual interest were discussed as well.
