Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan on Wednesday met with the chairman of the board of directors of DP World company, Essa Kazim, in Dubai, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.

DP World is a Dubai-based global trade and logistics company engaged in port management, cargo transportation, warehousing, and logistics services.

The opportunities for establishing long-term business cooperation between Armenia and DP World were discussed, paying particular attention to strengthening the country’s position as a regional logistics and trade hub.

The possible engagement of DP World in the “dry port” project in Gyumri, Armenia, was discussed, as well as the prospects for the development of modern warehousing and multimodal logistics infrastructure in Armenia. In this context, the minister of economy emphasized that Armenia's geographical location, the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional transport project, and Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative create new opportunities for international logistics companies.

During the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of establishing cooperation in order to effectively utilize Armenia's transit and logistics potential and expand international trade ties.
