A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Investigative Committee of Armenia and the Ministry of Public Security of Chine on Thursday in Lianyungang, China, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

The agreement on signing this document was reached a year ago, during the official visit of the chairman of the Armenian Investigative Committee, Artur Poghosyan, to China, during which he had met with the Chinese Minister of Public Security, Wang Xiaohong.

By signing this memorandum, the two parties aim to expand their cooperation in the fight against transnational organized crime, ensure mutual assistance in verifying information received on crimes and investigating criminal proceedings, and exchange experience and information on the methodology for investigating other transnational organized crimes committed in terrorism, economy, information and communication technologies, and other crimes that pose a serious threat to society.

The document is aimed also at developing the professional capabilities of employees through joint educational programs, training, mutual visits, and personnel exchange in each other's scientific research and educational institutions, holding periodic expert consultations and scientific-practical events on matters of mutual interest.

At the end of the official visit, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia and the Minister of Public Security of China lauded the dynamics of the established partnership relations, and expressed confidence that the practical application of the provisions of this memorandum will raise the effectiveness of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries to a qualitatively new level.
