The pretrial house arrest of opposition Strong Armenia party supporter, former intelligence officer Artur Avanesyan has been commuted. The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia has chosen administrative supervision combined with a travel ban as the new pretrial measure against Avanesyan.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia had issued a statement, according to which it had received evidence that the aforesaid opposition Strong Armenia party supporter had promised to hire as well as bribe a number of voters in exchange for voting for them in the June 7 parliamentary elections in Armenia.

Avanesyan was placed under pretrial detention for two months on April 28.
