Russian natural gas is considerably cheaper for Armenia than fuel purchases from other countries, said the deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council, Aleksey Shevtsov.

According to him, Armenia's possible refusal to receive Russian natural gas supplies anymore will cause the country much more serious damage than a similar decision previously had caused to Germany and several other European countries.

This is how the deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council commented on the statement by the secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, on his country's future energy policy. Simonyan had stated that Armenia intends to purchase natural gas "from everywhere that’s possible."
