Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has dissolved parliament and called snap general elections for November 29 amid a wave of protests over housing conditions, Brussels Signal reports.
The government has had to deal with an “extremely divided” parliament, where, as Sanchez said, “many confuse reaching agreements with betrayal,” as well as an “influential economic and social elite” that wants to influence Spain’s future without the support of voters.
In his view, the Spanish authorities were working with “the worst opposition in history” that did not want to take responsibility.
