This is the fourth year that we have been organizing economic missions in Armenia, and every year they become more ambitious, many important companies in Belgium come to Armenia, which enables to initiate cooperation in various areas such as infrastructure and health care. Belgian ambassador to Armenia Eric de Muynck told this to a press conference Wednesday.
According to him, the program organized this year is very ambitious, and there will be high-level meetings.
“I am glad that the group of Belgian entrepreneurs is in Armenia, which has brought with it very specific programs. A number of reforms are underway in Armenia, including in the healthcare sector, therefore, we will have a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade [of Armenia], and today we will also meet with the minister of health to discuss the current reforms. A meeting is also scheduled at the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence [(AI) of Armenia]. Our delegation includes representatives of many companies active in the AI, semiconductors, and technology sectors," added the Belgian ambassador to Armenia.
In turn, Valery Safarian, president of the Belgian-Armenian Chamber of Commerce, noted, in particular that this event was preceded by two small events in Belgium, where Armenia and its progress were presented, and as a result, today, about 15 heads of Belgian companies are visiting Armenia.
“First of all, we present the stable growth of Armenia’s economy, the gradual rapprochement with the EU, as well as the comparable sizes of our two countries, which makes networking quite easy.
Many sectors are represented within the framework of this program: health care, logistics, construction, IT, infrastructure. The heads of Belgian enterprises, who are not of Armenian origin, have invested about 2 million euros in the Armenia Fund.
Our delegation also includes an international insurance company headquartered in Brussels. Meetings are planned with local insurance companies,” Safarian added.
