The 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, underway in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, is raising the country's visibility, the focus of attention of all people interested in environmental protection in the world these days is Armenia, and this is objective. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan on Monday told this to reporters.

“Whether it is a world-class star, starting from Leonardo DiCaprio to an ordinary average environmentalist, for them these days Armenia is in the spotlight. And, of course, Armenia is developing in terms of tourism. We are planning and these days flights to Armenia have also increased sharply, the number of foreigners is increasing,” the minister added.

“It is expected that during this period ,an additional 10-15 thousand tourists will visit Armenia, some of whom have already arrived, left. This will also have its economic results. Of course, such events, in addition to increasing the country's visibility, also lead to an improvement in the investment environment and an increase in new investments, investment opportunities," said Papoyan.
