“I guess if continued on the same lines, Armenian president will have no reason to visit Turkey in October, as Sargsyan will keep his word on not going there as a tourist. Either the border should be open, or be in the process of opening, which means that a diplomatic relations treaty should be signed by then,” Kiro Manoyan, ARF Dashnaktsutyun Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Director, told journalists at today’s meeting. He supposes although Turkish side will try taking some steps and already started claiming the border should be opened, Serzh Sargsyan will have no grounds to visit Turkey-Armenia match.

According to him, though Turkish side will undoubtedly fall back upon certain steps, as already say about the border to be open that day, however Serzh Sargsyan will have no reason to go to watch Armenia-Turkey match.

He also pointed out that that if till October the borders were open, some steps had to be taken by now. However, so-called “road map” presently does not work. On the other hand Turkey stated that will not sign an agreement with RA, unless the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is settled. But as the issue will not be settled by October, the border is not to be open. “Certainly, the pressure might be exerted on sides, but they have to resist it, as it is not in Armenia’s interest,” Manoyan said.

It was reported that the match will take place in Kayser, but Turkish Hurriyet newspaper informs the match location shifted to Bursa. The World Cup 2010 qualification round Turkey-Armenia match will take place on October 14 in Bursa.
