MOSCOW. – A protest action by the Russian society was held in front of the Hungarian Embassy in Moscow on Friday in connection with the extradition of Azerbaijani murderer Ramil Safarov from Hungary to Azerbaijan.

The Hungarian Ambassador to Russia received the delegation headed by the president of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan, the deputy head of the Union Levon Mukanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Abrahamyan handed over a petition of the protest participants. In addition, a protest demonstration is going to be held next week in Moscow against the extradition and granting a pardon to the murderer of the Armenian lieutenant.

Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier that Ramil Safarov, a lieutenant in the Azerbaijani army, was extradited on August 31 from Hungary, where he was serving a life sentence - and with no expression of either regret or remorse - for the premeditated axe murder of Armenian lieutenant Gurgen Margaryan, in his sleep, during a NATO Partnership for Peace program in Budapest back in 2004.
