YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan and United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Armenia Mission Director Karen Hilliard on Saturday signed an agreement on a $14.6-million assistance (grant) to Armenia.

From this amount, $9.6 is envisioned for economic reforms and $5 million is intended for healthcare and social reforms.

As per Hilliard, the mid-term program is being reviewed and clarified and, now, the next five-year program is being prepared.

In his turn, Davtyan said they wish to incorporate, to the utmost, local organizations and individuals to these programs.

To note, the Russian government recently decided to suspend USAID activities in Russia, and on the grounds of interference in political processes. To Armenian News-NEWS.am’s query as to whether this could happen in Armenia as well, the Minister responded by saying that he sees no such likelihood.
