YEREVAN.- Armenia’s Deputy Speaker, spokesman for Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov commented on the statement issued by Prosperous Armenia Party’s representative, calling it “politically short-sighted.”

In her yesterday’s statement Naira Zohrabyan said transition to parliamentary system of government is one of the ways to remove monopoly, carry out necessary reforms and tackle problems.

“It is politically short-sighted not to see that figures standing behind such statements wish to come to power. They have no chance to come to power openly without hiding. It is obvious,” he said commenting on the calls for transition to parliamentary system.

The true faces of real players will be revealed shortly, he emphasized.

On Tuesday Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) issued a statement announcing consultations with other political forces ahead of the presidential elections in Armenia. The statement indicated that transition to parliamentary system of government suggests that the president elected in 2013 will be in office during four years until the next parliamentary elections in 2017.
