MOSCOW. – Russia and Armenia are preparing for signing an agreement on a joint air defense system.

To date solely Russia and Belarus have a united air defense system, and a similar agreement is being prepared for signing with Armenia. But this system will have a joint—and not a united—status because Russia and Armenia do not have common borders, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Tuesday’s order—which is posted on the Russian official legal information portal—states.

Also, Russia plans to sign united air defense system agreements with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
