The election of Turkey’s representative Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu as President of the CE Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) cannot have any political consequences for Armenia, Ruben Mehrabyan, expert for the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS), told NEWS.am.

Armenia may have problems with PACE “not because of Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu’s nationality, but because it fails to honor its commitments.”

“Whether Çavuşoğlu is a Turk or not, the problems will arise as they are expected to,” the expert said. “On the other hand, the Armenian authorities have a good opportunity to justify everything by the Turk Çavuşoğlu being biassed,” Mehrabyan said.
