January 27, 2010 Head of Armenian delegation to PACE David Harutyunyan, Naira Zohrabyan and Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with the newly appointed PACE Chairman Movlud Cavusoglu. The meeting was initiated by Armenian delegation, RA NA Information and PR Department informed NEWS.am.

Armenian delegation representatives congratulated Turkish official on the appointment to the new post and asked him to comment on his Jan. 27 interview with Azerbaijani APA news agency.

Cavusoglu emphasized that Azerbaijani APA news agency misinterpreted his words, According to him, he did not use phrases mentioned in the interview, but spoke on the current regional issues, including Georgia, Armenia-Azerbaijan, Armenia-Turkey issues to be settled by negotiations. Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement is in OSCE Minsk Group format and Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) can have a leading hand in the solution to these conflicts, particularly humanitarian issues, he outlined.
