YEREVAN.- 2013 will bring no drastic movement in the Karabakh peace process, head of Regional Studies Center Richard Giragosian told reporters.

The EU will intensify its role in terms of deepening assistance to the peace process, without changing the OSCE Minsk Group format, he said.

The next year’s main challenges are Syrian crisis and possible change of power, Iranian nuke problem, continuation of Turkey’s policy on reconciliation with Armenia.

Giragosyan also mentioned natural disasters, saying we must be ready for the unexpected events, for example earthquakes.

Speaking about foreign policy results of 2012, he mentioned end of the oligarchs’ era, successful reforms in the context of EU talks, parliamentary elections, characterizing them as “good, but not good enough”, poor socio-economic situation and unacceptable number of army incidents.
