YEREVAN. – Unknown people have broken the statue of legendary chess-player Tigran Petrosyan in the Armenian capital city of Yerevan, which was set up next to the Alexander Spendiarian Armenian Opera and Ballet National Academic Theatre.
To remind, a group of unknown vandals have broken the statue of Armenian contemporary famous writer Hrant Matevosyan, which was set up near the house-museum of another Armenian celebrity writer of early 20th century, Eghishe Charents. Other cases of vandalism were registered on Abovyan Street near the Moscow cinema-house, which belonged to Armenian famous actor Mher Mkrtchyan. The latter’s statue was renovated, returned and re-set up.
