YEREVAN.- In 2012 Armenia’s capital registered 7,677 crimes, which is 8.3 percent decline as compared with 2011.

Yerevan has registered decrease in serious crimes by 950. These data was presented at the meeting of Armenia’s Police summing up the activities of capital’s police department and district departments.

The meeting was chaired by Police Chief, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Gasparyan. A report was presented by Chief of Yerevan Police department Nerses Nazaryan.

The number of offenses against persons increased by 452 or 29 percent, while the cases of inflicting bodily harm increased by 111. The number of homicides has remained the same - 19.
