YEREVAN. – It will be all right, stated Armenia’s Chief of Police, Vladimir Gasparyan, after casting his ballot in Sunday’s capital city Yerevan Council election. 

Gasparyan, however, did not say which political force he voted for and for what sake. 

Incidentally, the Police Chief was the first person to vote at his election precinct.

“As a rule, I should have been at work already by 8am; I am late today,” Gasparyan said.

As for the opposition Heritage Party-led “Barev [Hello], Yerevan” bloc’s complaint that the Police do not respond to election irregularities, he stated that the Police will establish law and order, as always.       

“The Police are prepared, and I am confident that there is nothing to worry. I am confident that the society likewise is prepared,” Vladimir Gasparyan assured.
