YEREVAN. – Collection of photos related to the Armenian history during the Genocide will be exhibited in Armenia for the first time.

Nareg Hartounian, founder of Naregatsi Art Institute, said the photos included in “Along the Trails of the Armenian Orphans” collection belong to the Rockefeller Archive Center of New York. Over 200 archive photos will be displayed during  hree days.

Hartounian called the initiative “a historic event”, adding that the photos will display injustice towards the Armenian people in 1915-1929. The photos will also give an opportunity to learn more about activities of the Near East Relief and American people’s assistance to the Armenians.

He noted that over 132,000 orphans were rescued due to the efforts of the Near East Relief. This event is first of all aimed at expressing gratitude to the American people.

A photo exhibition “Along the Trails of the Armenian Orphans” will open in Yerevan at the imitative of Naregatsi Art Institute and with the support of the Near East Relief and the U.S. Embassy in Armenia. The opening is planned for May 25 in the National Gallery of Armenia.
