YEREVAN. – A fire broke at dawn on Wednesday at the Grand Candy Company factory in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, the fire is still burning, and all of Yerevan’s firefighting means are being used.    

The Municipality fire engines likewise are dispatched to the scene, Rescue Department Chief Mushegh Ghazaryan told news reporters. An ambulance and police officers are at the scene, too.

The area of the factory is surrounded, and the news reporters are not permitted to even approach the factory gates.

Ghazaryan further informed that the fire is localized for the most part and, now, they are fighting the fire on the roof.   

Overall, an area of 800 square meters is destroyed by fire, but there are no casualties or injuries.

To note, the information about the fire was received at 6:57am, and according to preliminary data, the fire had broken out in the paperboard workshop on the first floor of the two-story building.
