President of PACE Jean-Claude Mignon has an intention to run for the post of Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
Mignon said he would run for the post if he is supported by France, RIA Novosti reported.
If elected, Jean-Claude Mignon plans to develop contacts of the Council of Europe with other international organizations. CoE must have greater political weight and must closer cooperate with UN and EU, he said.
The candidacies for the post will be known till January 1, 2014.
