President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan met with his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer during his working visit to Vienna.
The presidents discussed development of Armenia-Austria relations, regional and international challenges. They touched upon peaceful negotiations on settlement of Karabakh conflict and the results of today’s meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders held in Vienna.
Speaking about bilateral relations, Serzh Sargsyan and Heinz Fischer noted that the economic and trade cooperation and cultural ties between the two friendly countries have potential for development.
The sides underscored importance of mutual visits at various levels as well as the activities of the Armenian-Austrian intergovernmental commission.
President Sargsyan noted the importance of the official visit of his counterpart to Armenia in 2012, which gave impetus to the further strengthening of friendship between the two countries and peoples.
President Fischer reconfirmed invitation to Armenian president to visit Austria in 2014. The invitation was accepted by Serzh Sargsyan.
