April 5, Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) declared it will create pollar satellite launch vehicle by 2014.
According to AEB, the vehicle is developed based on VLS project, suspended in 2003. Back then an explosion in Alcantara Launch pad killed 21 people and the project was frozen.
The testing of updated Brazilian VLS-1 vehicle is scheduled for 2012, whereas first launch with full loading – for 2013. Reportedly, Russia is likely to participate in the development of Brazilian vehicle.
