The Armenian Genocide resolutions approved by different Parliaments are not of benefit to Armenia, Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on April 12 at the opening ceremony of the Center for Islamic Studies in George Mason University, Washington.

We reject accusations of genocide to 1915 events and deny unfair and unilateral decision of the parliaments. We consider that the history should be studied and estimated by historians, not parliaments, Erdogan stated, adding that Ankara declared of its readiness for opening its archives and urged other states to do so as well. He also recalled that back in 2005 offered President Sargsyan to create joint historians’ committee, “however our initiative went unanswered.”

Meanwhile, Armenian side has repeatedly voiced its stance on committee creation. The fact that Erdogan recalled the matter in Washington proves that the Protocols basic purport dawned to Turkish premier and he decided to make another dead-set in the country that actually initiated Armenian-Turkish reconciliation process.
