YEREVAN. – The situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border is relatively calm, spokesperson for Armenian Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“As compared with previous days, there are less cases of ceasefire violation,” he said.

After a failed attempt of act of sabotage against Nagorno-Karabakh on the nigh of January 20, Azerbaijani side increased the shootings against Armenian armed forces and NKR, provoking Armenian side to reiterate. The shootings resulted in losses.

The escalation of tension provoked by Azerbaijan received negative response from international community and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
