YEREVAN. – Armenia's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has received petition on termination of the parliamentary mandate of newly appointed Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
“CEC will convene a meeting within seven days to pass the mandate to the next person in the list,” spokesperson for the Commission Hermine Harutyunyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The next in the proportional list of the Republican Party of Armenia is Lernik Aleksanyan.
President Serzh Sargsyan on Sunday appointed now former National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan as Prime Minister of Armenia. On Monday, Sargsyan introduced Abrahamyan to the Cabinet members.
