A memorial complex dedicated to the Armenian Genocide victims opened in Almelo, the Netherlands.

The complex was built in the territory belonging to the Armenian Apostolic Church. The khachkars made from tufa and were brought from Armenia.

Around 5,000 Armenians from the Netherlands and other European countries participated in the opening ceremony. Members of the Dutch parliament, representatives of local authorities and Armenia's Ambassador to the Netherlands Dzyunik Aghadjanyan were present.
