YEREVAN. – Leader of Orinats Yerkir Arthur Baghdasaryan does not think that Armenia needs constitutional reforms at the moment.

He noted that the country is faced with grave economic situation and such reforms are premature.

“Constitutional reform will ensure majority for the Republican Party of Armenia,” he said during a press conference on Friday.

The politician said he and president Sargsyan are friends, but sometimes things happen that you part with someone.

“We have normal friendly and working relations. But our roads part here. I will definitely criticize his moves that I will deem wrong, but at the same time we are ready to support ruling party. However, it will be immoral to demand resignation of the president, as we had a common path,” Baghdasarysan noted.

He added that Orinats Yerkir party will go to the opposition, since they need freedom.

Baghdasaryan said he would assume the post of chairman of the board of CSTO Academy in Armenia. The politician did not rule out his participation in the 2018 presidential race.
