YEREVAN. – Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction Secretary Hovhannes Sahakyan will become Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.  

NA Acting Speaker, RPA Spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov told the above-said to reporters on Saturday, following the RPA Board meeting.  

He added that the head of the NA delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will be the delegation’s former member, NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan.

As per Sharmazanov, the Board meeting, however, did not discuss the nomination for a new head of the RPA NA Faction; the latter’s current head, Galust Sahakyan, has been nominated NA Speaker.  

The positions of the chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and the head of the NA delegation to PACE were left vacant when Davit Harutyunyan was appointed Government Chief of Staff-Minister.
