One-hundred people from Moldova already have made use of the right of free entry into the European Union (EU) countries and traveled to Greece.

The EU on Monday canceled its visa requirement for the Moldovan citizens.

But the new rules apply solely to those who carry biometric passports.

Before the first visa-free flight, an official ceremony took place at capital city Chișinău’s international airport, and Moldova’s parliament leader, prime minister, and the head of the EU delegation also were in attendance.
