YEREVAN. – The opposition Armenian National Congress bloc National Assembly (ANC NA) faction will boycott the voting on the election of the parliament speaker, ANC NA Faction Head Levon Zurabyan told reporters on Monday.  

As per Zurabyan, with this decision their faction also expresses its position on ruling Republican Party (RPA) NA Faction Head Galust Sahakyan, whom RPA has nominated as the next NA Speaker.

“The [present-day] makeup of the parliament does not reflect the people’s real choice. We consider it pointless to take part in a voting organized by the unlawful parliamentary majority,” the ANC NA Faction head stated.
