YEREVAN. – Second President Robert Kocharyan sold Armenia and received a position at the Sistema joint-stock financial corporation of Russia.

Opposition National Self-Determination Union (NSU) Chairman, ex-presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan noted the abovementioned at a press conference on Friday.

Hayrikyan added that had democracy truly worked in Armenia, such a thing would never have happened.
“The spirit of the Communist Party and of subordination continues to live on among the present-day [Armenian] authorities,” the NSU leader stated.

Paruyr Hayrikyan also noted that if there had been a true democracy and a legitimate authority in Armenia, its leaders would have dared to say that Russia should not sell weapons to Azerbaijan.
