Gallup's global surveys show perceived media freedom declining in many countries.
According to the opinion poll, 63% of adults across 132 countries polled last year say the media in their country have a lot of freedom. A median of 26% say their media are not free.
In Armenia 44% of respondents perceive media as free, while 43% say it is not free. Another 14% refused to answer.
In the neighboring Azerbaijan 61% of respondents believe their media is free, in Georgia – 51%.
This year's rating includes Nagorno-Karabakh where 63% of respondents said media is free.
